¡VAMOS! opens ERE1.1 at the 2017 European Geosciences Union conference

¡VAMOS! will open the Energy, Resources and Environment (ERE1.1) session on the first day of the 2017 conference of the European Geosciences Union in Vienna on Monday 24th of April.

At EGU2017 (#EGU2017), geoscientists and other affiliated parties from Europe and beyond are gathering at the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) to participate in a multidisciplinary meeting composed of plenary meetings and multiple break-off sessions covering all disciplines of Earth, planetary and space sciences; the conference is bringing together researchers and experienced scientists to present and discuss their ideas with experts from all fields of geoscience.

Kicking off the ERE1.1 session to a potential in-person audience of more than 100 interested geoscientific experts, ¡VAMOS! will be presented alongside similar projects related to raw materials robotics innovation such as ‘UNEXMIN – an underwater robotic explorer for flooded mines’, and more environmentally focussed research including ‘Integrated water resources management’. The presence of such interested parties will enable us to present our research to an engaged audience who will be able to give feedback on the ¡VAMOS! technique, the result of which will be a better understanding of the scientific and public perception of the system and any potential technology gaps.

This dissemination opportunity allows us to create more awareness for the project and the concept of submerged inland mining whilst also generating feedback which will enable us to better define the future direction of the concept as part of the foresight planning process.
